Description

Introduction Wall System

Earth retention and related problems often pose complex challenges to the construction industry. Solutions for the stability of earth structures are essential and significant necessities in the field of geotechnical engineering.

The AnchorSOL® Wall system is an effective earth reinforcement system that is internally stabilized and based on proven Reinforced and Anchored Earth concepts and it provides novel solutions to earth retention problems. The system is developed with a combination of the Reinforced Soil and Soil Anchoring techniques.

The AnchorSOL® Wall system is a mechanically stabilized earth system with the followings main components to form the primary structural entities :

A. Discrete Concrete Facing Panel

The discrete facing panels are made of durable precast concrete with characteristic strength of 30 Mpa. The facing panels are vase-shaped and featured with flexible and aesthetically pleasing finishing ti suit the client's requirements. These panels are interlocked with each other to dosguise differential movement and prevent local raveling and deterioration. The horizontal joints are secured with elastomeric materials to accommodate vertical movement or differential settlement. The vertical and horizontal joints are inserted with foam materials or geotextile filter cloth to prevent egress of the backfill materials.

B. Reinforcing Elements

The inextensible reinforcing elements in the AnchorSOLTM Wall System are made of hot-dipped galvanized carbon steel rods to prevent corrision. These elements are attached and secured to the vase-shaped facing panels via specially formed omega shaped anchorage lug embedment devices.

C. Reinforced Soil Anchoring

The reinforced soil anchoring elements are made from discrete precast concrete blocks with an attachment to the reinforcing element via nuts and washers. Reinforced soil anchoring in the AnchorSOL® Wall system derives its resistance in the precast anchored concrete block. The major advantage of the anchored concrete block is that it is posible to relax the critical associated with the selection of fill materials without loss of stability or serviceability.

D. Reinforced Soil Fill

In general, the selected backfill material consists of cohesion-less soil with internal frictional angle of not less than 36 degrees after compaction.
